Trip to Unst...

Skaw cottage, the most northerly cottage in the land & a lovely welcome from the owners..... & glorious weather
The comment from Jeanette 'I think someone's living in that bus stop' lead the family to take a closer look.

After a long windy drive to Unst, Zero thinks we've arrived at the cottage - not a bus stop. He settles in quickly on the carpet with the lions & tigers & refuses to join us at the car 100 yds away so Jeanette & Dave have to drive over to pick him up, much to a passing local's amusement.

There was an African theme... explanation from the official web-site no doubt! - www.unstbusshelter.shetland.co.uk

Unst bus stop - surely the most comfortable bus shelter in Britain - & with buses few & far between, one could appreciate this when the horizontal rain gets up.

Some felt flowers Jeanette made at Skaw cottage in preparation for a workshop on Unst

Spectacular scenery at Skaw

Jeanette took a workshop whilst on Unst & had a full house of 10 local participants making some rather expert looking felt flowers.....

Jeanette would like to thank all those who came with such enthusiasm & worked so hard. If they'd like a return visit, they only have to ask.....

Unst Heritage Centre, a great setting for some serious felting.
The finished products. Attached to a present or a head of hair, these simple creations are a wonderful hand made added touch.
