Jeanette
was enjoying the Highland air of Caithness over much of 2004.
As one of three selected craft makers she visited three primary
schools, where she taught children the craft of Felt making.
At the same time she investigated the surrounding landscape
for her own work. She has had the luck to find studio space
& accommodation at Freswick Castle, 5 miles south of John
O' Groats. Under it's new owner, Murray Watts and the Wayfarer
Trust, the Castle is undergoing a major renovation with the
intention of providing a unique space for artists of various
mediums to come & work.
Jeanette's
residency program has been supported by The
Scottish Arts Council and The
Highland Council. The work of all three craft makers can
be seen until mid September 2004 at The Galleries & Museum
in Inverness. It then travels up to Swanston Gallery, Thurso
from 18 September ......... |
