This week long summer school is dedicated to the 1920s Flair and Fashion.

Our journey will take us from fabric manipulation to some basic pattern cutting, and on a general exploration of millinery techniques. We will make delicate Nuno fabrics to turn into miniature clothing, long scarves and more.

cloche 20s style felt hat Jeanette's training as a costume designer and ladies' tailor will provide us with a wealth of information and design ideas.

Introduction to the week
Research work on 1920's fashion & life style
Sampling the 20's in felt and fabric/ fabric manipulation/sketch book work

Evening: Music and film night

Tuesday:

Cloches
Headdresses/headbands

 
Wednesday:

Nuno and miniature clothing

 

Thursday:

Accessories such as:

Long necklaces
Collars & neckties
Fishnet gloves
Feather boas
Long scarves with fringes

Friday:

Vintage bags and snuff box covers

20s fashion

Cost: £250 excluding materials, but including a light lunch

Max participants: 12

Studio opening times 9am-midnight

Teaching hours: 10am-4pm with 1 hour lunch

 

 

 

 

 

Suggested list to bring with you:

Fabrics, ribbons, buttons, fibre, silk fabrics, muslins, pins, buckles, broken jewellery, feathers.

Materials can also be purchased from ‘Twist Fibre Craft' in Newburgh during the week.
